Daily Life on Campus: Extracurricular Activity

Every campus or university has a lot of extracurricular activities. Extracurricular activities on campus
are various. These activities are various because they are provided for students’ hobby. As an example,
students who like sports could join kind of sports clubs like karate, football, basketball, and so on.
Also some students prefer academic activity. They would join academic club activities like journalistic,
research, and so on.

Joining club in campus brings you a lot of advantages. First, you will learn something that not taught in
class. As an example, you join karate club and learn about self defense. That knowledge would not taught
in class. Second, you will found a lot of various friends. You would meet various friends because club
members not only from one faculty but also different faculties. As a result, you can share and exchange
your experience with them.

Before you join a club, you have to pay attention to several things. First, you should join club that suit
your hobby. If you join club you dislike, you will get bored easily. Thus, you won’t get anything from the
club. Second, you have to manage your schedule and time well. Sometimes, you found club activities
busy and more exciting. Therefore, you forget your obligation to study. That would be bad for you. In
order to solve the problem, you must manage your time well between 2 activities: club activity and
study.

UM Car Free Day

        On April 25, 2013, you would not see any car and motorcycle around in State University of Malang because there was a ‘UM Car Free Day’.  This event was held to celebrate the Earth Day which is on April 23. Everyone who brought car and motorcycle had to park their vehicle in the outside of campus. There were some park area outside UM’s gate which were in Ambarawa street, Veteran street, Surabaya street, and Semarang street.    Of course, this event got a lot of good response, included from me.

       I think UM car free day is a great idea for me. First, because there was no motorcycle and car around, I could take a breath from a fresh air. Secondly, everyone who could walk around with no worries, as for me I could enjoy the view that I could not do when riding a motorcycle. Next reason, even though it was a dog day, I can burn some calories from walking, I believe that I made us healthier than before. I think UM should make this event again in the future.

                

Girlfriend Effect

Most of the college students have a girlfriend. Having a girlfriend give a different effect to different people. Some might think that girlfriend make study become so hard because the time that should be spend to study, become wasted because of girlfriend. For example, a girlfriend usually need someone to share her problem, and the boyfriend will be the one who she looking for. When the girlfriend start to tell the boyfriend about her problem, automatically, the boyfriend will start to thinking what is the best solution for her girlfriend problem, and because of that no time to study for the boyfriend. On the other hand, study become more enjoyable because, they use the girlfriend as a motivation, and they become more excited when studying.
